In discussions with Oman’s Vice Admiral Al Raisi, he highlighted the importance of military cooperation and maritime security in the region.

In Tehran, Major General Mohammad Baqeri, the Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, condemned the US-Israeli plan to forcibly displace Palestinians from Gaza. He asserted that regional unity is crucial to confront Israel’s expansionist policies, which he described as a direct threat to regional stability.

During a meeting with Vice Admiral Abdullah Khamis Al Raisi, Chief of Staff of Oman’s Armed Forces, General Baqeri characterized Israel as an “occupying and terrorist regime” and emphasized that only through regional solidarity can nations effectively counter such aggression.

Baqqeri highlighted the strong historical ties between Iran and Oman, noting that their bilateral relations are strong and evolving. He stressed the importance of further cooperation especially in light of current geopolitical challenges, particularly in enhancing maritime security in the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman.

The discussions included plans to combat smuggling and secure regional waters. General Baqeri invited Oman to join the upcoming Maritime Security Belt naval drills, aimed at bolstering collaborative security efforts among regional navies. Opportunities for military cooperation, training, cultural exchanges, and counter-terrorism initiatives were also highlighted.

Vice Admiral Al Raisi reaffirmed Oman’s commitment to stability in the Persian Gulf region, asserting that security should be controlled by the nations residing in the area. He acknowledged the profound mutual trust within the longstanding bilateral relationship and expressed dedication to enhancing cooperation for regional stability and economic security.

Al Raisi’s visit to Tehran included plans to tour an exhibition on Iran’s military advancements and meet with key Iranian military figures, reinforcing the significance of Omani-Iranian relations in addressing regional security matters.

The remarks from Major General Baqeri underscore the importance of regional solidarity in the face of perceived aggressions from Israel, while the discussions with Vice Admiral Al Raisi illustrate the ongoing efforts between Iran and Oman to strengthen military and security cooperation.
