On Tuesday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh conducted a series of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Armenia, Malawi, and Madagascar during Aero India 2025 held in Bengaluru. He engaged with Suren Papikyan, Defence Minister of Armenia; Monica Chang’ Anamuno, Defence Minister of Malawi; and Lieutenant General Sahivelo Lala Monja Delphin, Minister of Armed Forces of Madagascar, focusing on strengthening defence cooperation.
Rajnath Singh shared insights from his meeting with Madagascar’s Minister, stating, “Held productive discussions with Madagascar’s Minister of Armed Forces Lt Gen Sahivelo Lala Monja Delphin in Bengaluru.” He also noted his positive engagement with Malawi’s Minister, emphasizing the urgency to finalize a Memorandum of Understanding to bolster strategic relations.
In a further meeting with Armenia’s Defence Minister, Singh remarked, “Had a productive meeting with the Defence Minister of Armenia Suren Papikyan, on the sidelines of AERO-India 2025.” He highlighted the progress in defence ties and mutual aspirations to enhance cooperation.
Earlier, Singh addressed the Global Investors Meet (GIM) 2025 in Bengaluru, asserting that the city is set to cultivate India’s first Foundational AI Model. He praised Bengaluru’s pivotal role in fostering innovation and referred to it as India’s technological hub, driving national and global advancement in the aerospace sector.
Highlighting the essence of Cooperative Federalism, Singh drew parallels with the GST framework, emphasizing the collaborative spirit between the Central and State Governments.
