Warner Music Group has announced a leadership change in its Southern Cone division, appointing Tomás Talarico as the new managing director for Argentina and Chile, effective immediately. Talarico takes over from Guillermo Castellani, who will remain as a consultant during the transition. Talarico’s appointment comes under the oversight of Alejandro Duque, president of Warner Music Latin America.

Tomás Talarico brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having founded MOJO, an independent record label and digital distributor, in 2014. Under his leadership, MOJO expanded throughout Argentina, Chile, and Peru, establishing itself as a significant force in the tropical and urban music scenes. The label has worked with approximately 150 artists and has achieved over 50 Gold and Platinum certified singles, in addition to receiving numerous awards.

Throughout his career, Talarico has been instrumental in developing talents such as ECKO, Grupo Zumbale Primo, Kaleb Di Masi, Papichamp, and Uriel Lozano. He also contributed to the successful project Un Poco de Ruido, which achieved significant success on Spotify Argentina last year. Furthermore, Talarico’s experience as a musician adds depth to his understanding of the industry, having released five rock and pop albums as a guitarist and singer-songwriter.

Duque highlighted Talarico’s entrepreneurial spirit and ability to integrate technology within music to support artists, while also commending Castellani for nurturing major Warner talent like Maria Becerra and Tiago PZK. Talarico expressed enthusiasm about leveraging Warner Music’s resources to benefit local talent and made note of Castellani’s impactful tenure.

Castellani reflected on his experience at Warner Music since 2002, expressing gratitude towards his colleagues for their support. He acknowledged the great progress the team has made and conveyed confidence in Talarico’s capability to further enhance Warner Music’s position as a leader in nurturing emerging musical talent in the region.

In summary, Warner Music Group has appointed Tomás Talarico as the new managing director of Warner Music Southern Cone, succeeding Guillermo Castellani. Talarico’s extensive experience in the music industry and his successful leadership of MOJO are expected to contribute positively to the company’s future.
