On February 17, Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain of Bangladesh expressed a desire for enhanced energy cooperation with Oman during a meeting on the sidelines of the 8th Indian Ocean Conference in Muscat. He emphasized the need for a guaranteed energy supply from Oman, recognizing the excellent bilateral relations enjoyed by both nations.
Both parties reflected on the forthcoming 50th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between Bangladesh and Oman, agreeing to organize celebrations. Adviser Hossain extended an invitation to the Omani Foreign Minister, Sayyid Badr Albusaidi, to visit Bangladesh for this occasion.
Moreover, Adviser Hossain expressed gratitude to Oman for its hospitality toward Bangladeshi expatriates, who significantly contribute to the local economy.
