On February 7, 2023, Chinese Ambassador to Liberia, Yin Chengwu, participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the National Resource Center for Persons with Disabilities and Group of 77 Residence. The event was attended by prominent figures including H.E. Mr. Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., the President of Liberia; Hon. Mr. Jeremiah Kpan Koung, the Vice President; and Madam Synleseh Stephenie Dahn Koung, the Second Lady, along with various members of the diplomatic community and international organizations.
During his remarks, Ambassador Yin praised the initiative, affirming it as a testament to the Liberian government’s commitment to upholding human rights, particularly those of individuals with disabilities. He expressed China’s enduring partnership with the Group of 77 and emphasized the need for ongoing exchanges and cooperation to strengthen the bond between China and Liberia.
