The Jamaica Rifle Association (JRA) recently hosted an impressive United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) Grand Prix series event last weekend at their Mountain View headquarters in Kingston. This year-long series runs alongside the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Grand Prix series, showcasing exceptional talent from various shooting divisions in a dynamic competition environment.
The event featured five divisions, with live firing generating excitement throughout the afternoon sessions. Participants competed across the Limited, Production, Open, Limited Optics, and Carry Optics divisions. Scores were published by Range Master Rohan Wilson at 6:00 PM, revealing Ryan Bramwell leading the Limited Optics division with 789 match points, followed by Petrano Belafonte with 705 points, and Marlon Stephenson earning 513 points.
The Production division saw close scores, where World Shoot aspirant Anthony Johnson claimed first place with 709 points, edging out Josimar Clarke and Rohan Wallace who scored 706 and 640 points, respectively. Alrice Palmer, typically a strong contender in the Open division, finished third as Alvin Amore triumphed in first place, followed by Ekpedeme Otuokon.
Chris Hart excelled in the popular Carry Optics division, leaving competitors Robin Rickhi and Dufton Shepherd behind.
