On February 27, 2025, Russian Ambassador to Ethiopia, Evgeny Terekhin, discussed the outcomes of a recent three-day visit by a high-level parliamentary delegation led by Valentina Matvienko, Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation. This visit was aimed at enhancing cooperation in health, education, and investment sectors.
The delegation included notable figures such as Russia’s Minister of Economic Development, Minister of Health, and representatives from the Ministry of Finance and State Corporation Rosatom. Ambassador Terekhin emphasized that the visit’s primary objectives were to strengthen intergovernmental agreements and facilitate trade and economic partnerships.
The ambassadors highlighted various cooperative agreements established during the visit, particularly in healthcare, where Ethiopian and Russian health ministries committed to advancing medical and pharmaceutical collaborations. A significant humanitarian aid contribution, consisting of medical supplies delivered to the Russian Red Cross Hospital in Addis Ababa, was also reported.
