On February 27, 2025, at around 13:40 hours, a report was filed at the Kalingalinga Police Post by Ms. Beatrice Kalunga, a 33-year-old resident of Garden Chilulu. She informed the authorities about the drowning of the two young girls, identified as Beauty Phiri, aged 14, and Anita Mwale, aged 15. This tragic occurrence has raised concerns within the community regarding safety measures amid heavy rainfall and flooding.
