Commissioner Šuica’s visit is part of ongoing high-level dialogues aimed at establishing the New Pact for the Mediterranean, developed with Mediterranean partners and EU Member States. The Pact is focused on addressing shared challenges including enhancing economic growth and regional stability.
During her visit, the Commissioner is scheduled to engage with key Egyptian leaders, including President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, and Minister Rania Al-Mashat. Additionally, a project called ‘Egypt Food Resilience,’ worth €90 million and jointly funded by the EU and the European Investment Bank, will be signed.
The Commissioner will also highlight ongoing political and economic reforms in Egypt, which align with the EU’s Macrofinancial Assistance package. The EU intends to support initiatives aimed at attracting investments in clean technology and renewable energy within the nation.
