Miata Metals Corp. has announced significant developments from its ongoing exploration at the Sela Creek Gold Project in Suriname. The company is preparing to initiate its first diamond core drilling program of ten thousand meters, with the drill crew currently on site. This week, they will begin drilling the inaugural hole at the Stranger target.
Recent exploration results include a grab sample from the Puma target that exhibited a remarkable gold concentration of 39.16 grams per ton (g/t Au). Further samples from a newly opened pit at the central Puma target recorded gold grades of 2.32 g/t and 5.92 g/t. Notably, a grab sample located one thousand meters east of the Puma target yielded 7.03 g/t Au, indicating an extension of the gold trend to 3.7 kilometers.
In total, the Company collected sixty-three rock samples, yielding an average gold grade of 0.93 g/t Au. The operational progress includes preparations underway for drill pads at the Stranger and Golden Hand targets, alongside accelerated construction of a 28-person bunkhouse for the camp. Additionally, a water filtration system has been established to ensure a sustainable water supply at the camp, which aims to accommodate thirty-five personnel for future expansions.
The scientific analysis of the samples has been meticulously conducted at FiLab in Paramaribo, an ISO certified laboratory that implements stringent quality control measures. All quality assurance and quality control samples returned favorable results, affirming the reliability of the findings. These efforts have been both overseen and approved by Dr. Jacob Verbaas, P.Geo., the Company’s director and qualified person under the National Instrument 43-101 standards.
