The ICC has announced a record total prize pool of $6.9 million (approximately Rs 60.28 crore) for the Champions Trophy 2025, with the winning team receiving Rs 19.45 crore ($2.24 million). All eight participating teams will receive prize money, ensuring that even those eliminated before the semi-finals benefit financially.
Pakistan struggled throughout the tournament, finishing last in Group A with only one point from three matches, including one washout against Bangladesh. Consequently, they were placed 7th/8th, earning a total of $265,000, which includes $140,000 for their position and $125,000 for participation, totaling roughly Rs 2.29 crore.
England also finished without a win in Group B, losing all three matches to Australia, Afghanistan, and South Africa. Similar to Pakistan, England concluded their campaign in the 7th/8th position, claiming the same prize money of $265,000, translating to around Rs 2.29 crore.
Bangladesh, despite not securing a victory either, finished in the 5th/6th position due to a washed-out match against Pakistan. As a result, they received $475,000, comprising $350,000 for their position and $125,000 for participation, which is approximately Rs 4.15 crore.
Afghanistan finished 5th/6th in Group B as well but secured a win against England, enhancing their total earnings. They received $509,000, which includes $350,000 for their position, $125,000 for participation, and an additional $34,000 for the victory, amounting to roughly Rs 4.45 crore.
Meanwhile, India, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa are competing in the semi-finals, with the two losing teams set to collect $560,000, in addition to participation rewards and bonuses for any group stage wins. This structure ensures that all teams have financial incentives throughout the tournament.
The ICC Champions Trophy 2025’s prize distribution illustrates the organization’s commitment to rewarding all participating teams. Although teams like Pakistan and England did not win any matches, they still received significant prize money. Conversely, teams like Bangladesh and Afghanistan managed to earn more by leveraging their rankings and victories. As the tournament progresses to the semi-finals, financial support continues to play a crucial role for all teams involved.
