Bank of Namibia Launches N$60 Banknote to Honor Former President Geingob

This initiative was announced during a launch event on Wednesday, where Bank of Namibia Governor Johannes !Gawaxab explained the significance of the number 60, symbolizing Geingob’s dedicated 60 years of service to Namibia.

The new banknote will be released into circulation in two weeks. This period will allow the bank to conduct public awareness campaigns regarding its introduction. Upon its release, the N$60 note will be recognized as legal tender; however, it will be produced in limited quantities, designating it a collector’s item.
