The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has emphasized Nigeria’s dedication to international security collaboration by hosting prominent delegations from France and the United Kingdom at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. These meetings, held in the IGP Smart Conference Hall, aimed at enhancing the Nigeria Police Force’s (NPF) abilities to address emerging security threats.
During the engagement with France, IGP Egbetokun welcomed a delegation led by Régis Colcombet, Director of Defence and Security Cooperation. This team included senior military officials from the French Embassy and discussed potential collaborations on cybercrime investigations, anti-terrorism measures, training, equipment enhancements, and knowledge exchange.
In a separate meeting, IGP Egbetokun was represented by Taiwo Adeleke (AIG) and other senior personnel, who engaged with the UK-Nigeria Cyber Security Delegation. The British team featured Mark Smith, Country Director at the British High Commission’s Department of Business and Training, and Dan Edmund, CEO of Espranaro Limited, among others. The discussions focused on understanding the evolving cyber threat landscape and enhancing bilateral cybersecurity cooperation while promoting best practices in digital security.
