During the discussion, Transport and Logistics Permanent Secretary, Fredrick Mwalusaka, noted that TAZARA has been functioning under the 15th protocol and stressed the importance of advancing to the 16th protocol to improve the railway’s infrastructure and operations.
Counsellor Jin Jun from the Chinese government emphasized their eagerness to obtain insights regarding the 16th protocol’s technical cooperation. He mentioned that the existing agreements could be reopened for discussion and expressed contentment with the previous feedback received from the Tanzanian government, which reflects a constructive partnership between the nations involved.
