The series commences on April 27, with Sri Lanka facing India at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, continuing until May 11.
At present, Sri Lanka is engaged in a white-ball tour of New Zealand while most Indian players are participating in the Women’s Premier League (WPL). A number of South African players are also competing in the WPL, and prior to this tri-series, South Africa was scheduled to visit the West Indies in June. This series provides vital preparation for all teams ahead of the ODI World Cup scheduled for October in India.
The current standing within the ICC ODI rankings sees India at third place, the highest among the teams, followed by South Africa in fourth and Sri Lanka in seventh. Notably, Sri Lanka is the reigning Asia Cup champion, while South Africa reached the semi-finals of the last ODI World Cup held in 2022, notably defeating India in the league phase.
