Iran’s Foreign Minister stated that the country has not received Trump’s message about nuclear negotiations. He reaffirmed that Iran will not engage in talks with the US under sanctions. Despite Trump’s claims of communication, Iran’s leadership rejected negotiation offers, emphasizing internal unity against external pressures.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi asserted that the country has not received any communication from US President Donald Trump regarding negotiations over its nuclear program. This statement followed Trump’s claim of having sent a message. During a television interview, Araghchi remarked, “We have heard talk about a message, but we have not received anything so far.”
Araghchi previously informed the Agence France-Presse (AFP) that Iran would refrain from direct talks with the United States as long as sanctions remain in effect. He emphasized, “We will not enter any direct talks with the U.S. so long as they continue their maximum pressure policy and their threats.” Trump had reportedly sent a letter to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, inviting him to negotiate. However, Iran’s United Nations mission also denied the receipt of such a letter by stating, “No letter has been received.”
Despite the denial, Supreme Leader Khamenei rejected Trump’s offer, describing it as an attempt by “bullying governments” to enforce their will upon Iran. In a speech, Khamenei affirmed that Iran would not engage in discussions with any countries attempting to impose demands, stating that such efforts “do not aim at resolving issues.”
Additionally, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared that US efforts to undermine Iran’s energy exports and cause internal discord would not weaken the nation’s resolve. He stated, “The enemies of Iran place their hope in our internal divisions” and asserted the importance of unity and proper development to withstand external pressures.
In summary, Iran has firmly denied receiving any message from President Trump regarding nuclear discussions, maintaining its stance against negotiations while US sanctions are in place. Supreme Leader Khamenei reiterated that Iran will not engage with countries that impose their demands, while Iranian officials emphasize the importance of internal unity to withstand external pressures. The ongoing tensions between Iran and the US continue to hinder diplomatic engagement between the two nations.
