A delegation of South Sudanese fighters departed from Juba on Friday to participate in the World Muay Thai Championship held in Thailand from March 4 to March 18. The event includes participants from countries such as Algeria, Russia, the Netherlands, Canada, Italy, France, Iran, Brazil, Latvia, the Philippines, Spain, Thailand, Myanmar, India, and China.
South Sudan’s representatives in this prestigious championship are Abednego Thon (Wizzy), Sky Okony, and James Majok Gau. Puro Okello Oboo, the President of the South Sudan Kickboxing Federation (SSKF) stated that the athletes are well-prepared and ready to compete for the championship title. He expressed confidence in their potential to achieve favorable results.
Wizzy shared his appreciation for the opportunity to compete on behalf of South Sudan, expressing hope to secure a trophy that symbolizes national unity.
