Two lawmakers from Liberia’s Majority Bloc encountered strange incidents at their offices, including the discovery of a juju and blood. Rep. Fahnbulleh found a juju in his office and shared his confusion and faith on social media, while Rep. Jones noted blood on his door and quoted scripture to reaffirm his belief. These incidents highlight a tense atmosphere in the Capitol.
On Friday morning, two lawmakers from Liberia’s Majority Bloc, Rep. Foday Fahnbulleh and Rep. Ivar Jones, encountered unusual incidents at their offices. Rep. Fahnbulleh, representing Bong County District Seven, discovered a juju, a traditional African ritual object, within his office. He documented the event on Facebook, stating, “This is what was found in my office a few minutes ago. Juju entered Capitol Building! God is in control.”
Confused about how the juju appeared in his office, Rep. Fahnbulleh remarked, “I saw this African juju in my office, and I really don’t know how it entered.” Despite the oddity of the situation, he chose not to speculate on its relation to the ongoing issues at the Capitol, emphasizing, “I don’t want to blame anyone.”
Concurrent to this, Rep. Ivar Jones from Margibi County District Two reported finding blood on his office door. He took to social media to share his experience, referencing scripture from Isaiah 54:17 to assert his faith, stating, “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn.”
This incident marked the first occurrence of such a peculiar event in Rep. Jones’s office since his election as a lawmaker in 2017, reflecting the unusual climate surrounding the Capitol at present.
The strange occurrences reported by Rep. Fahnbulleh and Rep. Jones highlight a troubling atmosphere within the Liberian Capitol. The discovery of the juju and blood raises concerns concerning the emotional and psychological state of lawmakers in light of ongoing tensions. Both representatives have expressed their bewilderment but emphasized their steadfastness in faith amidst these bizarre incidents.
