Iran is willing to consider talks focused on the potential militarization of its nuclear program, but it will not discuss the total dismantling of its nuclear capabilities, as stated by the Iranian mission to the UN.
The Iranian government has expressed a willingness to engage in discussions pertaining to its nuclear program, provided that the focus remains exclusively on the potential militarization of the program. Nevertheless, Iranian officials remain steadfast in their refusal to entertain any dialogue aimed at the total dismantling of their nuclear capabilities. This stance was articulated through a statement by the Iranian mission to the United Nations, as reported by TASS.
According to the statement, “If the goal of the talks is to resolve concerns about the potential militarization of Iran’s nuclear program, then such issues can be discussed.” However, they made it clear, stating that if the intention is to eliminate Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, similar to the objectives of former President Barack Obama that were not achieved, such discussions would not occur.
In summary, Iran is open to discussions that address the potential militarization of its nuclear program but firmly rejects any proposals for the complete dismantling of its nuclear capabilities. This position reflects their commitment to maintaining a nuclear program in a peaceful manner while addressing international concerns.
