The Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD) has signed a significant land sale agreement with the Embassy of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire in Cairo. This agreement involves a 5,000-square-meter plot designated for the construction of the new embassy headquarters and ambassador’s residence, located in the Diplomatic District of the New Administrative Capital (NAC).
The signing ceremony was attended by Khaled Abbas, Chairperson and Managing Director of ACUD, alongside Albert G. Dole, Côte d’Ivoire’s Ambassador to Egypt, and representatives from both entities. Ambassador Dole endorsed the embassy’s relocation, stating that it symbolizes the strong bilateral relations between Côte d’Ivoire and Egypt, as well as expressing gratitude to ACUD for their expedited assistance in finalizing the agreement.
Ambassador Dole praised the NAC’s advanced infrastructure and modern amenities, asserting that its location in the Diplomatic District is ideal for upholding diplomatic functions. Khaled Abbas welcomed the agreement, regarding the embassy’s presence as a significant enhancement to the district, and noted the increasing trend of embassies relocating to the NAC, showcasing the area’s growing diplomatic significance.
The Diplomatic District is designed as a centralized hub for all foreign embassies and diplomatic missions currently spread throughout Cairo, aiming to bolster the capital’s stature as a global diplomatic notablity. This agreement reflects ACUD’s ongoing initiative to attract more diplomatic missions to the New Administrative Capital, following recent agreements such as that with the Embassy of Algeria.
