Libero Copper Advances Drilling at Mocoa Deposit with New Step-Out Hole MD-046

Libero Copper has commenced hole MD-046 at the Mocoa deposit in Colombia, part of a 14,000-metre resource expansion initiative. This strategic drilling aims to explore mineralization in areas previously considered waste while building on successes of earlier drill holes. Initial findings from MD-046 indicate significant mineralization potential, emphasizing the deposit’s value.

Libero Copper & Gold Corporation has initiated hole MD-046, the third in a 14,000-metre drilling program at the Mocoa porphyry copper-molybdenum deposit located in Putumayo, Colombia. This drilling is a strategic expansion aimed at testing mineralization beyond previously drilled areas.

MD-046 is intentionally designed to assess the continuity of copper and molybdenum mineralization in regions previously classified as waste in the current resource model. The drilling campaign builds on successful outcomes from previous holes MD-043, MD-044, and MD-045, allowing for exploration beyond established mineralization boundaries.

The current drilling progress indicates that MD-046 has reached a depth of 650 metres, designed for deeper exploration. Targeting areas not previously fully evaluated, this hole also aims to improve understanding of the resource model and reveal potential extensions of mineralization, especially in the East Valley, where previous models indicated less potential.

As drilling continues, the first 90 metres of MD-046 encountered a variety of geological formations, indicating a complex mineralization process characterized by multiple vein types and substantial alteration. This significant finding reinforces the potential of the Mocoa deposit, with indications that mineralization extends beyond initial estimates.

Libero Copper’s team, led by Edwin Naranjo Sierra, Exploration Manager, adheres to stringent quality assurance protocols. The methodologies utilized for sample collection and analysis are aligned with industry best practices, ensuring reliable and valid results to support the expansion of the resource base at Mocoa.

In summary, Libero Copper’s drilling efforts at the Mocoa deposit, especially with the commencement of hole MD-046, aim to significantly expand resource understanding and potential. The company is strategically testing areas previously deemed waste, with initial results already suggesting a robust and complex mineralization profile. Continuous adherence to quality protocols further ensures the reliability of findings, which are vital for future resource expansion.
