Outcrop Silver & Gold (TSXV: OCG) has reported exceptional results from its drilling at the Santa Ana project in Colombia, revealing silver assays as high as 1,913 grams per tonne. Notable findings from a highlight hole, DH442, include 2 metres averaging 38 grams silver and 1.94 grams gold, and another segment of 2.4 metres revealing 357 grams silver and 0.63 grams gold. The project is situated near Falan in the Tolima Department, approximately 200 km from Bogotá.
Guillermo Hernandez, Outcrop’s vice-president of exploration, acknowledged the significance of these results, stating that they indicate robust silver-gold mineralization and validate their exploration approach. He highlighted the drilling’s success, indicating it occurred more than 8 km south of the nearest resource vein, demonstrating the system’s considerable potential. The price of silver rose to $33.06 per ounce, fueled by industrial demand linked to green technology, with market values reflecting trends unseen since 2013.
Furthermore, the vein widths from hole DH442 corroborate historical mining evidence from the El 20 underground site, suggesting a strong and continuous vein system in what is considered Colombia’s largest high-grade primary silver district, active since 1585. Additional notable assays included hole DH444 from the Mangos SE vein, which yielded 1.92 metres at 486 grams silver and 1.33 grams gold, and hole DH436 that intersected 0.42 metre at 874 grams silver and 0.03 grams gold.
According to a 2023 resource assessment, the Santa Ana project is estimated to contain 1.22 million indicated tonnes at 446 grams silver and 2.3 grams gold, equating to approximately 17.5 million ounces of silver and 88,800 ounces of gold, along with inferred resources totaling 966,000 tonnes at 312 grams silver and 1.6 grams gold.
