President Duda remarked, “We both hope that the recent intensification of our cooperation will lead to significant progress in many areas in the coming years.” In this context, the leaders discussed the ongoing war in Ukraine, sharing a mutual desire for a just peace that fosters stability and protects economic connections.
During this visit, multiple agreements were signed to enhance cooperation. Notably, a five-year cooperation plan was established, outlining joint ventures between Poland and Mongolia, while agreements were also formed between academic institutions to foster scientific and educational collaboration.
Furthermore, a memorandum between Poland’s medicinal regulatory office and Mongolia’s Drug Regulatory Agency was signed to improve regulatory cooperation in the healthcare sector. In military education, a partnership was established between Poland’s War Studies Academy and a counterpart in Mongolia.
Additional agreements included a collaboration between Polish public broadcaster TVP and the Mongolian National Broadcaster, as well as a deal between the Polish Press Agency and Mongolia’s news agency Montsame. A film production partnership between Poland’s Documentary and Feature Film Studio and Mongolia’s Mongolkino was also initiated, bolstering ties in cultural and creative sectors.
Conversations extended to Poland’s interests in infrastructure development in Mongolia, along with opportunities for Polish enterprises in sectors such as heavy industry, agriculture, and tourism. President Khürelsükh acknowledged prior agreements reached during President Duda’s visit to Mongolia in April 2023, expressing confidence these initiatives would yield benefits.
“The initiatives we discussed today will deliver tangible benefits for both countries and their citizens,” he stated, highlighting the steady growth of trade relations. Currently, Poland ranks as Mongolia’s third-largest trading partner within the European Union and 11th globally, with coal being Mongolia’s primary export to Poland, which totaled around USD 1.9 million in 2022.
