Iran Denounces G7 Accusations as Baseless and Deceptive

Iran has condemned accusations from the G7 and the EU, calling them unfounded and politically motivated. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei criticized the G7’s claims about Iran’s behaviors and nuclear program, asserting compliance with international obligations. He also highlighted Israel’s role as a destabilizing force in the region and reaffirmed Iran’s right to self-defense.

Iran has publicly condemned the accusations made by the Group of Seven (G7) industrialized nations and the European Union, labeling them as “completely baseless and deceitful.” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei criticized the claims by G7 foreign ministers and the EU foreign policy chief, asserting that these allegations distort the truth and engage in malicious projection against Iran.

Baghaei attributed illegal and interventionist actions to G7 member states in West Asia, particularly citing their military, financial, and political backing for Israel. He contended that the G7 members must be held accountable for their roles in severe violations of international humanitarian law and human rights concerning Palestine.

The joint statement issued by the G7, which labels Iran as the “principal source of regional instability,” raised concerns over its nuclear capabilities, claiming that Iran must not be permitted to develop nuclear arms. Baghaei countered these assertions by affirming that Iran’s nuclear initiatives align with its technical needs and obligations under the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and associated agreements. He deemed the G7’s concerns “unfounded” and reflective of a political agenda.

Furthermore, Baghaei emphasized Iran’s commitment to promoting a nuclear-free West Asia, pointing out that Israel remains the primary barrier to this vision. He condemned Israel’s development of weapons of mass destruction, supported by G7 members, and claimed its actions constitute a serious threat to global peace and security.

The spokesman reiterated Iran’s inherent right to defend itself and its territorial integrity against external threats through military and defense capabilities. He dismissed ongoing anti-Iran narratives related to the Ukraine conflict, asserting that Iran maintains a principled stance against war and favors dialogue for conflict resolution. Baghaei criticized those who blame Iran instead of addressing their own flawed policies.

In summary, Iran strongly rejected the recent G7 and EU accusations, asserting that they are unfounded and politically motivated. The Iranian Foreign Ministry stressed the nation’s commitment to peace in West Asia, the legitimacy of its nuclear activities, and its unwavering right to self-defense. Furthermore, Iran criticized the G7’s support for Israel, labeling it as a significant threat to regional and international stability.
