After their meeting, Prime Minister Marrero, accompanied by Collinet Makosso, honored former Congolese President Marien Ngouabi by visiting his mausoleum. He laid a wreath on behalf of the Cuban people to pay respects to a leader who significantly contributed to the relationship between Cuba and Congo.

During his tribute, Marrero acknowledged the enduring friendship between Ngouabi and Fidel Castro, the Cuban revolutionary leader. He emphasized Cuba’s remembrance of Ngouabi, who played a crucial role in national liberation movements across Africa during his presidency, spanning from 1969 until his assassination in 1977.

Following the homage, the Cuban delegation, which included various ministers and an ambassador, participated in a working session with Congolese ministers to further discuss bilateral cooperation and mutual interests.
