The Foreign Ministers of Serbia and Somalia, Ambassador Marko Djuric and Ambassador Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, engaged in a telephone conversation aimed at fortifying bilateral relations. Ambassador Ahmed Fiqi emphasized the importance of strengthening mutual relations, stating, “We will strengthen and enhance our mutual relations.” In acknowledgment of ongoing diplomatic efforts, Ambassador Marko Djuric commended Somalia’s progress in resolving conflicting interests on international platforms, asserting, “Somalia has always been a special friend to us and we believe we can do a lot together.”

The Serbian government supports the training of Somali police forces, having recently conducted a graduation for young officers in Belgrade on November 24, 2024. This training program aims to improve skills in crime prevention, organized crime, and the maintenance of law and order in Somalia.
