Germany Strengthens Jordanian Humanitarian Corridor to Gaza with 32 Trucks

Germany has delivered 32 trucks to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation to improve the humanitarian corridor to Gaza. This initiative reflects commitment to aiding war-affected residents. The collaboration between JHCO, the Jordan Armed Forces, and various international organizations is crucial for effective humanitarian assistance.

On March 19, 2025, the German government delivered 32 additional trucks to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) to enhance the humanitarian corridor from Jordan to Gaza, currently affected by war. This handover took place during a ceremony where JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli expressed profound gratitude for Germany’s continued support in facilitating humanitarian efforts.

Hussein Shibli highlighted that the inclusion of these trucks is a critical step in fostering international solidarity to address pressing humanitarian issues. He reaffirmed JHCO’s dedication to collaborating with various partners to ensure the prompt and safe delivery of necessary aid to those in urgent need.

German Ambassador to Jordan Bertram von Moltke characterized the Jordanian humanitarian corridor as essential for the residents of Gaza, who are in dire need of assistance. He voiced hopes that Germany’s contributions would facilitate the provision of vital humanitarian support while praising the fruitful collaboration between JHCO, the Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army (JAF), and the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS).

Additionally, on the same day, the JAF, via the Royal Medical Services, received the seventh batch of medical supplies from Germany, which included essential medicines and medical equipment. These supplies are intended for field hospitals operated by Jordan in Gaza. The aid delivery was witnessed by Brigadier General Sahel Hammouri and the German Ambassador, who remarked that since 2023, German humanitarian initiatives have provided nearly 16 tonnes of medical supplies to these hospitals.

Hammouri expressed his appreciation for Germany’s assistance amidst the ongoing crisis, acknowledging the critical role of international collaboration in humanitarian emergencies. He emphasized the need for effective medical care to alleviate the suffering of civilians in the region while reiterating Germany’s commitment to ongoing humanitarian shipments in support of relief efforts.

In summary, the recent provision of 32 trucks from the German government to the JHCO demonstrates a significant enhancement of humanitarian efforts aimed at delivering aid to Gaza. With ongoing support from Germany, the collaboration between JHCO, the JAF, and various international organizations underscores the vital importance of international solidarity in addressing humanitarian crises and delivering effective care during emergencies.
