He reinforced Kazakhstan’s focus on multilateralism and cooperation to tackle global security challenges.
This year, the Conference will focus on the Subsidiary Bodies, which will facilitate discussions on critical global security topics. These include nuclear disarmament, preventing nuclear warfare, negative security assurances, outer space arms races, and the implications of artificial intelligence in military operations. A significant agenda item is the initiative by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev for establishing an International Agency for Biological Safety and Security.
Under Kazakhstan’s presidency, a series of eight meetings will occur among the four Subsidiary Bodies from March to May. Kazakhstan aims to collaborate with all delegations and stakeholders to achieve meaningful results through compromise and consensus.
