Born on March 30, 1948, in Dublin, Ireland, Eddie gained prominence in motorsport, first in lower racing tiers, then in driver management, ultimately founding the well-known Jordan Grand Prix team. The team was celebrated for its vibrant personality, delivering exciting performances and launching the careers of notable drivers, including Michael Schumacher and Damon Hill.

Post the sale of his team in 2005, Eddie transitioned to a role as a TV pundit and commentator while also thriving as an entrepreneur in diverse sectors. He is survived by his wife, Marie, and his children, Zoe, Miki, Zak, and Kyle. Eddie’s absence will be deeply felt within the motorsport community and beyond.

The family expressed their heartfelt grief, stating, “EJ brought an abundance of charisma, energy and Irish charm everywhere he went… He will be missed by so many people, but he leaves us with tonnes of great memories to keep us smiling through our sorrow.”
