The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has allocated N242.8 million for securing a Microsoft 365 licence, which is designed to digitise operations within the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS). The announcement came from Mr. Michael Ango, the Acting Executive Chairman of FCT-IRS, after a meeting chaired by Minister Nyesom Wike in Abuja. Mr. Ango highlighted that the FCTA is focused on substantial investments in technology aimed at enhancing efficiency in revenue collection within the capital territory.
Mr. Ango stated, “So, this is also one of those investments in technology that the FCT is undertaking”. The Microsoft 365 licence is set to facilitate the transition from manual processes to automated systems, therefore improving internal communications and operational efficiency.
Furthermore, the licence will aid in decreasing reliance on paper and will bolster record-keeping by enabling the storage of significant documents in the cloud. Mr. Ango underscored that these digitisation initiatives are pivotal for improving FCT-IRS operations and furthering the government’s objective of increasing revenue for the development of the Federal Capital Territory.
