WHO Holds Candidates’ Forum for Regional Director Election in Africa

A virtual candidates’ forum for the election of the WHO Regional Director for Africa will be held on April 2, 2025. The forum aims to promote transparency and will be led by Liberia’s Minister of Health. Four candidates will present their visions, followed by a Q&A session with Member States.

In preparation for the election of the new World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Director for Africa, a virtual candidates’ forum is scheduled for April 2, 2025, from 09:30 to 16:00 Brazzaville time. This initiative, agreed upon by WHO Member States, aims to enhance transparency in the electoral process and will be led by Honourable Louise Mapleh Kpoto, Minister of Health and Social Welfare of Liberia.
