He had also led the qualification with 10.03 seconds earlier, finishing ahead of Yohan Blake and Bryan Levell.
Rusheen McDonald achieved victory in the 300m event, clocking 32.39 seconds, a notable accomplishment given the event’s infrequent occurrence. Ackelia Smith commenced her outdoor long jump season impressively, achieving a distance of 6.74m, while competitor Tissana Hanson followed closely in fourth with 6.63m.
In the women’s 100m, Briana Williams registered a wind-aided time of 11.07 seconds for second place, while Natasha Morrison secured third with 11.08 seconds. Additionally, Shericka Jackson recorded a personal best of 36.13 seconds in the women’s 300m, ranking as the third fastest time by a Jamaican woman.
In the men’s 200m, Nigel Ellis finished second with a wind-aided time of 20.52 seconds, while Rasheed Broadbell placed fourth. In the women’s shot put, national record holder Danniel Thomas-Dodd achieved second place with a throw of 18.80m, trailing behind American Maggie Ewen who won with 19.25m.
