Reflecting upon his personal experiences as a former refugee turned successful entrepreneur, Wongbe emphasized how these shaped his leadership approach. He remarked, “My journey has never been easy, but it shaped my commitment to impact. Politics is not about power—it’s about delivering results.” Despite losing in the 2020 senatorial elections, he continued to focus on community development through various programs before being elected as a Representative.
Wongbe elaborated on the struggles within District 9, which, despite its resource potential, suffers from significant underdevelopment. He highlighted critical issues such as inadequate infrastructure, poor healthcare access, and lack of education. “When I took office, my people didn’t ask for speeches—they asked for roads, schools, and healthcare,” he stated.

His achievements include over L$2 million in micro-loans for women, the construction of new schools, renovation of clinics, and ongoing infrastructure projects including bridges and roads. “Real leadership is about delivering solutions, not waiting for government approval,” he emphasized.
Addressing the controversy surrounding a market stall project for village women, Wongbe clarified that it was a necessary response to their needs. “I met these women selling in the rain. They asked for help, and I acted,” he explained. This initiative aimed to empower women by providing resources and facilities to enhance their businesses.
Wongbe announced his decision not to participate in the upcoming senatorial elections due to concerns about Liberia’s economic situation and expressed a commitment to focusing on his community rather than engaging in resource-draining political processes.
