Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s aircraft has landed in Saudi Arabia, accompanied by key officials. The plane journeyed from Poland, covering several countries, and is part of important bilateral discussions with U.S. representatives.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Saudi Arabia on his official presidential aircraft, an Airbus A319 belonging to Ukraine Air Enterprise. The aircraft departed from Rzeszów–Jasionka airfield in Poland at 12:02 PM Kyiv time and landed at 4:40 PM local time at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah. Accompanying President Zelenskyy were officials including his Chief of Staff Andrii Yermak, Deputy Pavlo Palisa, and the Foreign Affairs and Defence Ministers, Andrii Sybiha and Rustem Umierov.
During its journey, the plane traversed the airspace of several countries, including Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Greece, and Egypt, culminating in a flight duration of 4 hours and 38 minutes. This visit follows the arrival of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio in Jeddah on March 9 for bilateral discussions with Ukrainian representatives, aiming for collaborative efforts towards resolving ongoing issues.
In conjunction with these talks, US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz and Trump’s Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff are expected to join. Witkoff indicated that the United States anticipates significant advancements in the discussions scheduled for March 11 in Saudi Arabia.
The arrival of President Zelenskyy in Saudi Arabia signifies an important diplomatic engagement involving key Ukrainian and U.S. officials. The discussions aim to foster cooperation and progress on critical issues facing Ukraine, reflective of ongoing international support and dialogue.
