On March 21, 2025, the Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC) completed a regional study tour focused on strengthening regional security by enhancing industrial capacity and defense partnerships. The delegation visited the Republic of Seychelles and was warmly welcomed by His Excellency President Wavel Ramkalawan at State House in Victoria. Brigadier David Chesire, the Deputy Commandant, led the delegation and expressed gratitude for the cordial relations between Kenya and Seychelles.
Brigadier Chesire acknowledged the hospitality and support from various Seychellois institutions during their stay. In a meeting with the JCSC delegation, President Ramkalawan provided important guidance to the student officers, highlighting the significance of focus, loyalty, and patriotism. He encouraged them to remain committed to their nations, stating, “Remain true to your countries and your commitments” while fostering a secure and prosperous future.
The event was attended by key officials, including Major General Michael Rosette, the Chief of Defence Forces of the Seychelles People’s Defence Forces, along with esteemed senior military officers. The Kenyan delegation incorporated Colonel Lois Wataka, the Kenya Defence Attaché, along with faculty and student officers from the JCSC, who represented various African nations such as Kenya, Burundi, South Africa, Tanzania, and Zambia.
